Bailey Romano is a rabbi, singer, and poet. She grew up outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, and attended Rhodes College where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies in 2012. She received her MA in Jewish Studies from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati in 2014 specializing in American Jewish History. During Rabbinical School at HUC-JIR, she worked in a number of Jewish organizations and synagogues; Camp Daisy and Harry Stein in Prescott Arizona (Judaics Director), Congregation Oheb Shalom in Sandusky, Ohio (Student Rabbi), Isaac M. Wise Temple (Fellow), Rockdale Temple (Intern), Congregation B’nai Israel in Parkersburg, West Virginia (Student Rabbi), and Adath Israel in Cincinnati Ohio (Rabbinic Intern and Fellow). She has an MA from Xavier University in Jewish Education Administration and was ordained in 2019. Rabbi Romano was the Rabbi Educator/Director of Education at Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria, VA for four years before joining the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue in Brooklyn as their Associate Rabbi. Bailey is committed to helping those she serves to pursue meaningful lives filled with compassion and a love of learning.
